We stand for economic justice, human rights, environmental protection and grass root democracy and we expect our elected leaders to fight for the PEOPLE.

Our PLATFORM outlines a comprehensive package of federal policy issues and priorities aimed at bringing prosperity, justice, and care to our beloved communities while fighting fascism and hatred that is unleashing violence in our country and around the world.

CLIMATE JUSTICE

We envision a NJ and a country where we protect our natural environment, restore our wild spaces, take urgent action to address climate change, and ensure environmental justice. We must be a country that holds polluters accountable, leads diplomatic efforts to address climate change, and re-envisions the critical need for energy while protecting the natural world. To accomplish this vision, we support:

Mobilizing resources to meet the urgency of the climate crisis and achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions before 2050 (43% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030 to 2019 levels).
Re-engaging with the UNFCCC and re-enlisting in the Paris Climate Accord
Centering environmental justice and demands of frontline and BIPOC communities who have borne the brunt of health and economic impacts serving as sacrifice zones for polluting industries.
Ensuring a just transition for workers and communities dependent upon and harmed by the fossil fuel industry.
Ending fossil fuel industry subsidies and tax cuts
Creating millions of new green jobs that provide living wages, strong labor protections, and safe working conditions, and ensuring the inclusion of frontline communities in this new economic sector.
Making public investments commensurate with the urgency and magnitude of the climate crisis.
Ensuring energy affordability by limiting the economic burden on everyday consumers and instead holding large tech companies responsibility for their energy consumption including data centers
Investing in climate reparations such as the UN’s Loss and Damage fund to bear US historic pollution responsibility to Global South nations bearing the devastation of climate change

LGBTQIA+ Rights

We respect the dignity and humanity of every person and their inherent rights to self-identification, bodily autonomy, personal freedom and that includes:

Provisions to support the inherent right to health care which supports one’s gender identity, or that of one’s child, including eliminating bans on Medicaid and federal funding for such care, and provisions which make prohibition of Gender Affirming Care a requirement for receiving federal funding.
Removal of provisions banning any person from serving in the military due to their gender identity or sexual orientation
Establishment of policies to protect elementary and secondary school students from harassment and bullying, including those based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
Developing and implementing a foreign policy strategy to prevent and respond to anti-LGBTQIA+ discrimination and violence globally
Ending biological non-scientific gender narrative, which includes ending bathroom and sports laws restricting use of restroom/changing facilities or participation in school sports to those matching sex assigned at birth
Supporting the Equality Act and expanding the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to prohibit public accommodations and federally funded programs from discriminating based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
Supporting the respect for marriage equality with all rights and responsibilities inherent in marriage regardless of sexual orientation

IMMIGRANT RIGHTS

Everyone, regardless of race, religion, income, or citizenship status, must have equal rights to a quality life, with access to healthcare, education, food and other essential services, and where everyone lives securely in the protections of the US Constitution. We believe in the possibility of a new, humane, and accountable immigration system that respects both our country’s borders and the dignity and worth of all human beings and that includes:

Pathways to citizenship including amnesty for long-term residents, refugees, and asylum seekers
Federal protection for Sanctuary States, Cities, Municipalities
Safe Zones including and around sensitive locations such as schools, hospitals, libraries, food pantries, houses of worship, and government buildings, which cannot be violated for the purpose of immigration enforcement
The dissolution of ICE and other immigration enforcement agencies that have been militarized and empowered to inflict violence and brutality on US residents while hiding their faces, and the replacement of these agencies with a new, humane, tightly regulated entity.
Immediate reversal of Immigrant VISA bans
End all corporate profiteering from separation of families

REPRODUCTIVE JUSTICE

We demand a world in which all women make every and all decisions about their bodies including whether or not to reproduce. Every human being has the right to parent children in safe environments, which include:

Equitable access to fertility treatment, contraception and abortion services without coercion
The right to terminate a pregnancy, safely and affordably, without intrusion by state or federal laws through codification of Roe v. Wade and abolishment of the Hyde Amendment
Access to scientifically based sex education
Increased resources to prevent or address violence, poverty, and environmental toxins

Build a safe and equitable system of care and services for all women during prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum care.
End racial disparities, with a rigorous focus on Black and Indigenous women, and improve maternal and infant health outcomes

NATIONAL SECURITY / FOREIGN POLICY

We envision a country where respect for human rights, international law, and the safety, dignity, and self-determination of all peoples guides our conduct on the world stage. We strive for a country that achieves its national security goals without complicity in genocide, war crimes, exploitation, or bullying. To accomplish that vision, we support:

Advancing peace through diplomacy, sustainable development, and humanitarian assistance.
Ending the military industrial complex and redirecting military spending on social programs and global aid and reparation for damages due to centuries of our foreign policy measures
Immediate cessation of regime-change operations including kidnapping heads of states, economic sanctions, military invasion, funding the opposition to overthrow governments
The restoration and rebuilding of America’s diplomatic and humanitarian infrastructure.
An arms embargo on all countries committing human rights violations and war crimes
Restoring Congress's authority over war declarations and an immediate cease of the current war mongering stance
The recognition of Palestine and the right of Palestinians to self-determination.
Refusing political donations from organizations that do not support the safety, dignity and self-determination of all peoples.

A FAIR ECONOMY

We envision a New Jersey and a country that prioritizes the needs of everyday people, not billionaires, corporate lobbyists and wealthy donors. We believe that no family should be forced to choose between paying the mortgage or getting lifesaving medical treatment, or between putting a child through college or saving for retirement. We envision an economy that shrinks the current historic level of income inequality and provides paths to prosperity for all people and that includes:

Progressive federal financing through tax reform that increases rates on top incomes, closes loopholes for investment income, capital gains, and ensures corporations pay more, in order to fund public investment in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and climate change
The preservation of guaranteed Social Security benefits for all Americans and the protection of pensions
Strengthen FTC and expand anti-trust initiatives
Strict regulation of AI industry
Prohibit insider trading and stock buyback by congressional representatives and public figures

EDUCATION

We recognize education as one of the most powerful public investments our government can make—one that demands bold, comprehensive funding for early childhood education, modern and fully resourced public schools, strong support and fair pay for educators, and a higher education system that allows every student to earn a degree without a lifetime of debt. We envision a nation and state where public schools are fully funded and every child receives a world-class education, no matter their ZIP code, including:

Reinstate the Department of Education and fully fund public education through progressive taxation so that the wealthiest pay their fair share.
Guaranteeing tuition-free education at public universities, colleges, and vocational schools.
Rejecting privatization and for-profit education schemes that drain resources from public schools.
Fund free, healthy breakfast and lunch to every public school student.
Fund universal access to public pre-K, universal childcare 0-3 years, , and affordable after-school programs.
Cancel student debt
Supporting educators and early childcare providers with fair pay, strong benefits, and ongoing professional development. (include in DOE and within federal jurisdiction and policy)
Fund investments in safe, modern, and sustainable school facilities.
Expand and improve special education programs and services.

ECONOMIC JUSTICE

We believe that in the wealthiest country in the history of the world, and in the second wealthiest state in the nation, the persistence of poverty can and must be eliminated. We envision a state and a country where all individuals and families enjoy economic security, and where opportunity and empowerment of working families guide economic and domestic policy. The programs we support include:

Raising the federal minimum wage to $17 by 2030 and indexing it to median wage growth, while also ensuring pay equity for women.
Expand federal worker protection for historically excluded workers, domestic workers, day laborers, and agricultural workers.
Major federal investment in equity-based infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, transit, green energy)
Fully fund a national youth jobs and vocational training program to create millions of jobs for young people
Fully fund social safety net programs including investment in public/affordable housing, section 8, homeless housing programs, healthcare for all, free public colleges, nutrition and hunger programs, disability access programs, and paid family leave.
Lowering housing costs by increasing investment in the National Housing Trust Fund, housing finance reform, establishing a national infrastructure bank, tax reform and support for first-time homebuyers.

UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE

We envision a state and a country that provides universal health care to its people. We believe that health care is a human right and that the failure of the United States to fulfill this basic need for millions is a stain on our country. To guarantee health care to all people living in the United States and to bolster the health and wellness of our citizenry, we support:

Healthcare for All.
Restore trust in public health science
An end to the price-gouging in the pharmaceutical market by requiring the direct negotiation of drug prices between pharmaceutical companies and the federal government and the establishment of critical safeguards to prevent any lifesaving drugs from being removed from the market.
Prohibit discrimination in insurance and medical services.
Implement solutions to support family caregivers who are raising children while caring for aging and/or disabled loved ones.

Restore federal ban on AR15 and other assault weapons
No interstate concealed / open carry

JUSTICE FOR ALL

We believe that expanding and protecting civil and human rights will repair the centuries of institutionalized racism and injustice committed on Black and Indigenous communities and provide equal protection under the law for all BIPOC, immigrant, and LGBTQI communities facing discrimination today. To accomplish this, we support:

Amend the 13th amendment that allows slavery for incarcerated people
Pass and implement a national reparations program
Restore and expand the 1964 Civil Rights Act and Voting Rights Act to their fullest potential including voter re-enfranchisement for those who are incarcerated or formerly incarcerated, stronger language access and language justice provisions, and enforcing codifying equity in all federal agencies and federally funded programs and recipient bodies
Support government policies that bolster the secular foundation of law, education and culture in the United States
Age and term limits for Congressional Representatives and Supreme Court Justices
Abolish the electoral college
Implement Campaign finance reform by forbidding corporate PACs and overturning Citizens United
Strengthen accountability, transparency, and public participation in government processes through passage of progressive sunshine law that holds all levels of legislature to higher public engagement process.
